Odoo in Dublin

Odoo ERP for Dublin companies running finance, stock and people

As an ERP, Odoo replaces a patchwork of accounting software, spreadsheets and standalone tools with one database shared by finance, sales, operations and HR. For Dublin firms that means the Irish accounting localisation, with its chart of accounts and VAT taxes, sitting underneath every sales order, purchase and stock move. Shyphan helps you decide which apps to start with and how the rest can follow later.

Irish accounting localisation

Odoo's Irish localisation installs the chart of accounts and VAT taxes at the standard and reduced rates, so the figures for your VAT3 return and the annual Return of Trading Details come from posted transactions.

Groups with several companies

Dublin groups with several Irish entities, or a sister company in the UK or elsewhere in the EU, run each company in one database with intercompany transactions, shared contacts and consolidated reporting where needed.

Payroll handled properly

Odoo Payroll has no Irish localisation, so we connect Odoo Employees, Attendances and Time Off to an Irish payroll package such as Sage Payroll or Thesaurus, and post the payroll journal back into Odoo Accounting.

Reporting across departments

Because sales, purchasing, stock and accounts share one database, management reports on margin, cash, stock value and overdue debt draw on live data instead of exports reconciled in spreadsheets each month.

Overview

Odoo ERP in Dublin

Shyphan delivers Odoo ERP for businesses in Dublin as an Official Odoo Partner. We work across the IFSC, Grand Canal Dock, Sandyford, Citywest and Dublin Port with financial-services firms, technology companies, pharma and medical-device makers, agencies and professional-services practices - on a fixed quote, with milestone dates and named consultants.

A Dublin project carries the same regulatory detail as anywhere else in Ireland: 23% VAT returns filed to Revenue through ROS; PAYE Modernisation real-time payroll reporting, PRSI and USC; and Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) for construction subcontractors. All of it is configured against your own transactions and tested before go-live rather than corrected afterwards.

Discovery workshops, go-live support and end-user training are delivered on site in Dublin where that helps; configuration and build work is done remotely, which keeps the cost down without hurting quality. Support runs on Irish time (GMT/IST), Monday to Friday, in English.

Where working in this city is weak - and what we do about it

On-site time costs more than remote delivery, and not every task is better in the room. Paying for a consultant to sit in your office writing configuration is waste.

How we handle it: We put discovery, training and go-live on site, and the build work remote. The quote shows which is which.

Local compliance

What compliance in Ireland means in practice

Almost everything Irish Revenue wants arrives through ROS, and payroll arrives on or before the day people are paid. For a subsidiary of an overseas group the harder part is usually not the Irish return itself but keeping the Irish books in a shape that satisfies both Revenue and the parent's reporting calendar.

ObligationWhat the rule isWhat has to be configured
VATThe standard rate is 23 per cent, with 13.5 and 9 per cent reduced rates and a zero rate on several categories. VAT3 returns are normally bi-monthly through ROS by the 23rd, and a Return of Trading Details follows annually.Tax rules per rate and per supply type, reverse charge on intra-EU acquisitions and on construction under RCT, and a VAT3 that reconciles to the ledger without a spreadsheet in between.
PAYE ModernisationA payroll submission goes to Revenue on or before each payday, carrying PAYE, PRSI and USC for every employee. There is no annual P35.Revenue Payroll Notifications imported before each run, so employees are taxed on the credits Revenue has actually issued rather than last month's.
Relevant Contracts TaxPrincipal contractors in construction, forestry and meat processing must notify each contract and each payment to Revenue, and deduct at the rate Revenue returns.Subcontractor records that hold the RCT rate and the deduction authorisation, with payment notification built into the payment run.
Corporation tax12.5 per cent on trading income and 25 per cent on passive income, with a 15 per cent effective minimum for in-scope large groups under Pillar Two.Trading and non-trading income separated in the ledger from the start, because splitting them afterwards is where the time goes.
Companies Registration OfficeAn annual return on Form B1 within 56 days of the annual return date, with financial statements attached.Statutory accounts produced from the same ledger the management accounts come from, so the two do not have to be reconciled.
GDPRThe Data Protection Commission supervises GDPR in Ireland, and is lead supervisory authority for many of the technology companies established here.Lawful-basis and consent records held against the contact, retention applied by the system, and subject access answered from a report rather than a search of inboxes.

The filing calendar

  • Every paydayPayroll submission to Revenue through ROS
  • Bi-monthly, by the 23rdVAT3 return
  • Monthly, by the 23rdPAYE, PRSI and USC payment
  • Within 56 days of the ARDForm B1 annual return to the CRO

Who you file with

We configure the system to produce what these returns ask for, and we test it against your own transactions before go-live. We are not tax agents: your accountant or tax adviser signs the return, and rates and thresholds change, so treat this as the shape of the work rather than advice. Last reviewed 15 September 2026.

FAQ

Odoo ERP in Dublin - questions answered

Is Odoo ERP suitable for a mid-sized Dublin company?
Yes, Odoo runs businesses from a handful of users up to large multi-company groups. For a mid-sized Dublin business, the questions that matter more are which processes are standard, how much data needs migrating and which systems must stay connected. We answer those in discovery and give a fixed quote for the agreed scope.
Does Odoo ERP prepare the VAT3 return for Dublin businesses?
Odoo produces the VAT report from posted invoices and bills using the Irish tax configuration, and we set it up so its totals line up with the VAT3 boxes. The return itself is then filed on ROS by you or your accountant. We check the mapping against real transactions before go-live, so the first period closes without surprises.
How does PAYE Modernisation change the payroll process?
A payroll submission goes to Revenue on or before each payday, carrying PAYE, PRSI and USC for every employee, and there is no annual P35 to catch up on. The part that matters in setup is importing Revenue Payroll Notifications before each run, so people are taxed on the credits Revenue has actually issued.
Is Odoo a real ERP or just a collection of apps?
It is a real ERP: the apps share one database, one product catalogue, one customer record and one general ledger. What makes it feel different from legacy ERP is that you can switch parts on as you need them.
Can Odoo replace our accounting software?
Yes, and that is usually the strongest reason to adopt it - when accounting is inside the ERP, stock valuation, project cost and payroll post themselves instead of being re-keyed.
What size of business does Odoo suit?
Realistically, from about five users up to several hundred. Below that a simple accounting package may be enough; far above it you are into a longer, more structured programme, which we also do.
How long does Odoo ERP take in Dublin?
Four to ten weeks for most Dublin businesses. On-site days are scheduled around your team's availability, and the remote build work runs in parallel so the calendar is not the bottleneck.
What does Odoo ERP cost in Dublin?
A fixed price in EUR. The quote separates remote build work from on-site days in Dublin, so you can see exactly what the travel is costing you and decide how much of it you want.
Is Irish compliance handled the same way in Dublin?
Yes - the rules are national, not municipal. 23% VAT returns filed to Revenue through ROS and PAYE Modernisation real-time reporting, PRSI and USC apply in Dublin exactly as they do anywhere else in Ireland.
Do your consultants actually come to Dublin?
Yes. Discovery workshops, end-user training and go-live support are delivered on site in Dublin. Configuration and build work is done remotely, which keeps your bill down without hurting the outcome.
What happens after go-live?
A free 30-day hyper-care window with daily availability, then an optional monthly AMC: a named consultant who knows your database, SLA-bound response times, a pool of included hours, verified backups and a quarterly review. Support runs on Irish time (GMT/IST), Monday to Friday, in English. Call +44 7343 086577.
