Odoo in Dublin

Bespoke Odoo development for Dublin companies building new features

Development goes further than customisation. It is for Dublin companies that need something Odoo does not offer at all: a client portal with its own logic, an industry-specific app, a connector to an in-house platform, or a public API for partners. Shyphan scopes the feature, builds it as a standalone Odoo module with tests and documentation, and deploys it through staging so your team signs off before release.

New apps and modules

We build complete Odoo apps with their own models, menus, security groups and reports, for example a property lettings register or a training course scheduler, designed to sit alongside the standard Odoo apps.

Portals and websites

Customer and supplier portals built on the Odoo website framework let your clients view orders, upload documents, approve quotes or book services, with access controlled by the same users and rules as the back office.

APIs and webhooks

Where other systems need to talk to Odoo, we expose controlled REST endpoints or use Odoo's external API, with authentication, rate limits and logging, so partner platforms can push and pull data safely.

Tested and documented

Each module ships with automated tests that run on every commit in Odoo.sh or your CI pipeline, plus technical notes and a user guide, so another developer could pick up the code without needing us.

Overview

Odoo Development in Dublin

Shyphan delivers Odoo Development for businesses in Dublin as an Official Odoo Partner. We work across the IFSC, Grand Canal Dock, Sandyford, Citywest and Dublin Port with financial-services firms, technology companies, pharma and medical-device makers, agencies and professional-services practices - on a fixed quote, with milestone dates and named consultants.

A Dublin project carries the same regulatory detail as anywhere else in Ireland: 23% VAT returns filed to Revenue through ROS; PAYE Modernisation real-time payroll reporting, PRSI and USC; and Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) for construction subcontractors. All of it is configured against your own transactions and tested before go-live rather than corrected afterwards.

Discovery workshops, go-live support and end-user training are delivered on site in Dublin where that helps; configuration and build work is done remotely, which keeps the cost down without hurting quality. Support runs on Irish time (GMT/IST), Monday to Friday, in English.

Where working in this city is weak - and what we do about it

On-site time costs more than remote delivery, and not every task is better in the room. Paying for a consultant to sit in your office writing configuration is waste.

How we handle it: We put discovery, training and go-live on site, and the build work remote. The quote shows which is which.

Local compliance

What compliance in Ireland means in practice

Almost everything Irish Revenue wants arrives through ROS, and payroll arrives on or before the day people are paid. For a subsidiary of an overseas group the harder part is usually not the Irish return itself but keeping the Irish books in a shape that satisfies both Revenue and the parent's reporting calendar.

ObligationWhat the rule isWhat has to be configured
VATThe standard rate is 23 per cent, with 13.5 and 9 per cent reduced rates and a zero rate on several categories. VAT3 returns are normally bi-monthly through ROS by the 23rd, and a Return of Trading Details follows annually.Tax rules per rate and per supply type, reverse charge on intra-EU acquisitions and on construction under RCT, and a VAT3 that reconciles to the ledger without a spreadsheet in between.
PAYE ModernisationA payroll submission goes to Revenue on or before each payday, carrying PAYE, PRSI and USC for every employee. There is no annual P35.Revenue Payroll Notifications imported before each run, so employees are taxed on the credits Revenue has actually issued rather than last month's.
Relevant Contracts TaxPrincipal contractors in construction, forestry and meat processing must notify each contract and each payment to Revenue, and deduct at the rate Revenue returns.Subcontractor records that hold the RCT rate and the deduction authorisation, with payment notification built into the payment run.
Corporation tax12.5 per cent on trading income and 25 per cent on passive income, with a 15 per cent effective minimum for in-scope large groups under Pillar Two.Trading and non-trading income separated in the ledger from the start, because splitting them afterwards is where the time goes.
Companies Registration OfficeAn annual return on Form B1 within 56 days of the annual return date, with financial statements attached.Statutory accounts produced from the same ledger the management accounts come from, so the two do not have to be reconciled.
GDPRThe Data Protection Commission supervises GDPR in Ireland, and is lead supervisory authority for many of the technology companies established here.Lawful-basis and consent records held against the contact, retention applied by the system, and subject access answered from a report rather than a search of inboxes.

The filing calendar

  • Every paydayPayroll submission to Revenue through ROS
  • Bi-monthly, by the 23rdVAT3 return
  • Monthly, by the 23rdPAYE, PRSI and USC payment
  • Within 56 days of the ARDForm B1 annual return to the CRO

Who you file with

We configure the system to produce what these returns ask for, and we test it against your own transactions before go-live. We are not tax agents: your accountant or tax adviser signs the return, and rates and thresholds change, so treat this as the shape of the work rather than advice. Last reviewed 15 September 2026.

FAQ

Odoo Development in Dublin - questions answered

Who owns the code Shyphan develops for a Dublin client?
You do. Custom modules are written for your business, delivered into your repository, and licensed to you without restrictions on modification or reuse. We do not hold code back or charge for access to it later. If you move to another partner or bring development in house, the full history goes with you.
Can you develop an Odoo customer portal for our Dublin clients?
Yes. A portal built on Odoo's website framework uses the same database as your back office, so clients see live orders, invoices, tickets or project updates without any syncing. We design the screens, set record rules so each client sees only their own data, and test the portal on mobile before launch.
How does PAYE Modernisation change the payroll process?
A payroll submission goes to Revenue on or before each payday, carrying PAYE, PRSI and USC for every employee, and there is no annual P35 to catch up on. The part that matters in setup is importing Revenue Payroll Notifications before each run, so people are taxed on the credits Revenue has actually issued.
Can you take over development someone else started?
Yes. We review the existing code first and tell you plainly whether it is worth extending or worth replacing, with the cost of each.
Do you write tests?
Yes, on custom business logic. It is the difference between an upgrade being a routine task and being a project.
Can we hire developers on a monthly basis?
Yes. A dedicated developer or a small pod on a monthly retainer works well for a continuous roadmap, and it is cheaper than a series of small fixed-price jobs.
How long does Odoo Development take in Dublin?
Four to ten weeks for most Dublin businesses. On-site days are scheduled around your team's availability, and the remote build work runs in parallel so the calendar is not the bottleneck.
What does Odoo Development cost in Dublin?
A fixed price in EUR. The quote separates remote build work from on-site days in Dublin, so you can see exactly what the travel is costing you and decide how much of it you want.
Is Irish compliance handled the same way in Dublin?
Yes - the rules are national, not municipal. 23% VAT returns filed to Revenue through ROS and PAYE Modernisation real-time reporting, PRSI and USC apply in Dublin exactly as they do anywhere else in Ireland.
Do your consultants actually come to Dublin?
Yes. Discovery workshops, end-user training and go-live support are delivered on site in Dublin. Configuration and build work is done remotely, which keeps your bill down without hurting the outcome.
What happens after go-live?
A free 30-day hyper-care window with daily availability, then an optional monthly AMC: a named consultant who knows your database, SLA-bound response times, a pool of included hours, verified backups and a quarterly review. Support runs on Irish time (GMT/IST), Monday to Friday, in English. Call +44 7343 086577.
